maybe you are crossing memories from alone in the dark 3 and silent hill 1 , but try both and then ytou ´ll see which one brings your good gaming memories back ;)

mmm, there is non official sh1 pc release , but it came out a bit later on ...the 2d,3d and 4th came out for pc . If its not an adventure , the survival horror games i remember are : city of lost children and alone in the dark , even thought i doubt it was any of the alone in the dark series... try getting sh1 , im pretty sure it is that one. if not , a very good copy of it hehe!

UPDATE: I am very sure it is not Silent Hill. Or any of the sequels. But I do believe it is a survival horror game that was for PC sometime between 1999-2002.

I really don't remember anything - the only reason I don't think it's SH, is because (as far as I could tell) SH2 was the only release on PC & that wasn't until 2002 - but 2002 it's terribly far-fetched now that I think about it. But SH2 is about a man looking for his wife, and I'm pretty sure that wasn't the story. Like I said, I think the main character was a detective - hired by a woman looking for her daughter. Which does sound like a SH game.

I guess it was a the pc version of silent hill 1 , this version was a sorta *ahem* adapted version... but it really sounds like sh1 . I´ll look into it and see if there was any other adventure games like this. but i almost sure it was sh1. if you´re really sure it isnt sh1 , do you remember ay char names??

OK. I played this game many, many years ago. It was on PC & I never finished it. All I remember is being sent to a deserted town (looks like an old west ghost town) & it's all foggy. I'm exploring rooms looking for clues & I can't remember if there was anyone else in the town who wasn't a monster of some kind - there may have been a creepy townsperson just lurking. I want to say I was a detective sent to this place by a woman to look for her daughter (but I fear my memory has been grossly influenced by Silent Hill stories.) It does sound like a Silent Hill game the more I try to remember, but it was on the PC, I'm sure of it. I say that only because I didn't own a Playstation(any) until just recently. I could have played it in-store... This would have been around 1999/2000.
